QSE PAVE and QSE

PAVE Application Documents: Checklist and Translation Rules

To be approved for the QSE, the AAVSB needs your academic documents sent directly by your veterinary school, proof of English proficiency, an identity check and certified translations of anything not in English. Everything must arrive by the cutoff for your chosen exam: October 31 for January, March 31 for May and June 30 for September. Most delays come from schools that are slow to send records and translations that do not meet the rules. This checklist covers each item as of October 2026, and it is the first practical step in the PAVE program.

This is general information based on the AAVSB's published requirements, not legal advice. Requirements change; confirm the current list on the AAVSB application page or email pave@aavsb.org. navleexam.com is not affiliated with the AAVSB.

Before You Apply: Check Your School

PAVE is open only to students and graduates of schools on the AVMA ECFVG-listed school directory. The AAVSB uses that list to confirm the degree comes from an institution recognized by its country's education authority. If your school is missing, you must work with the AVMA to have it added, and the AAVSB cannot say how long that takes. Do this first: nothing else on this list helps if your school is not listed. Academic Documents

If you have graduated

Ask your veterinary school to send two things directly to the AAVSB: an official final transcript and official proof of your degree or qualification (your diploma). The AAVSB accepts them by email or by mail, as long as they come from the institution, not from you. Copies you upload yourself are not a substitute.
