PAVE QSE Domain 1: Foundations of Veterinary Medicine Guide
Foundations of Veterinary Medicine is the first of the three domains in the AAVSB's new Qualifying Science Examination (QSE) outline, which applies from the January 2027 exam date. It accounts for 54 of the 155 questions the outline lists, about 35% of the exam, and covers nine subcategories: anatomy, behavior and husbandry, immunology and vaccines, infectious agents, physiology and nutrition, and the principles of pathology, imaging, pharmacology and surgery. This guide explains what each subcategory is likely to test, gives the high-yield facts to anchor your revision, and links to our deeper review of each area.
