About Reptile on the NAVLE

Reptile questions (2.5%) span chelonians (turtles and tortoises), lizards (bearded dragons, iguanas, geckos), and snakes. Metabolic bone disease (MBD) from UV-B and calcium deficiency is the single most commonly tested condition. Other high-yield topics include respiratory infections, stomatitis ("mouth rot"), inclusion body disease in boid snakes, dystocia, thermal burns, anorexia workup, and appropriate husbandry (temperature gradients, humidity, lighting). Understanding ectotherm physiology is essential.
